On May 24–25, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation Exchange and the 4th Annual Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Exchange Special Event were held in Macao. Our Chairman Shi Yuanyuan was invited by the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology and the Macau University of Science and Technology to attend and deliver a keynote report. Attendees included Fan Yingyan, Party Leadership Group Member and Full-Time Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology; Wang Rui, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Executive Director of the Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Jiang Zhihong, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine; Duncan Chiu, Member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council; He Peizheng, Honorary President of the Macao Brand Innovation Association; and Jiang Yuyang, Chairman of the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology, and Sun Nan, Party Leadership Group Member, along with Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao biomedical experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs, Hong Kong legislators, Macao SAR government officials, and institutional representatives. The event aimed to establish a multi-level, all-round new pattern of science and technology innovation cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, explore new mechanisms for collaborative innovative drug R&D in the Bay Area, and chart pathways for the internationalization of biomedicine.

During the keynote forum, six guests delivered keynote speeches: Academician Wang Rui; Vice President Jiang Zhihong; Zhang Yuefei, Director of the China Resources Sanjiu National-Local Joint Engineering Center; Tan Yan, President of Shenzhen Unknown Biotech Co., Ltd.; Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman of Shenzhen Cell Valley Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; and Cheng Jie, President of Dong-E-E-Jiao Co., Ltd. They engaged in discussions on topics in the biomedical field, including innovative drug R&D, green synthesis processes for innovative drugs, and complex formulation technologies.

The cell therapy industry possesses tremendous medical value and broad development prospects. As an economic and industrial highland, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's goals of building a full-chain service platform for new drug R&D and achievement translation, and accelerating the construction of the Innovative Drug Center of the "Innovation China" Greater Bay Area Consortium, have become important topics in recent years.

At the forum, Chairman Professor Shi Yuanyuan delivered a speech titled "Current Status and Prospects of Cell Therapy," mainly introducing the background and current status of cell therapy, the principles and mechanisms of CAR-T therapy, viral vector selection, development prospects, as well as Shenzhen Cell Valley's development history, technological advantages, and comprehensive strength.

Shi Yuanyuan stated that Shenzhen Cell Valley is currently the only enterprise in China with an industrial-scale retroviral vector production line and a CAR-T cell factory production line. As a major public service platform for the biopharmaceutical industry, it will take continuously improving the overall pharmaceutical innovation level of the Greater Bay Area as its mission, providing services and technical support to enterprises, research institutions, and medical institutions in the domestic cell and gene therapy field. It is committed to exploring therapeutic approaches, conducting frontier research, advancing cell therapy technologies from the laboratory to the clinic, and guiding related enterprises in the Greater Bay Area in innovative practices in the biomedical field. It will deepen industry-academia-research cooperation, establish a refined and convenient mechanism for the transfer and translation of scientific and technological achievements and a crowd-innovation platform, form a diversified drug R&D model, and fully stimulate the enthusiasm and vitality for innovation and entrepreneurship in the biopharmaceutical industry. At the same time, it will work with various uation agencies to jointly establish a comprehensive review and uation mechanism, standardize macro and micro policies for the cell industry, strengthen supervision and management of clinical trials and applications of cell therapies, explore effective governance systems, and promote the rapid translation and market promotion of innovative achievements. It will also continue to supply high-end technical talent urgently needed in the industrial production field of cell therapy, providing strong support for promoting the emerging biotechnology industry.

Shenzhen Cell Valley will leverage its own advantages, strengthen cooperation with the Greater Bay Area, promote cross-regional exchange of talent and technological innovation, build an influential biopharmaceutical industry cluster, and make important contributions to the economic development of the Greater Bay Area.
