On the morning of March 29, our Chairman Shi Yuanyuan, Chief Scientist Wang Jianxun, Assistant to the Chairman Wei Zheng, and Deputy Head of R&D Sun Rui visited Shanghai JW Therapeutics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "JW Therapeutics") for exchange and discussion. Liu Qianyong, Head of Translational Medicine Early Research; Gu Haihua, Senior Director of Preclinical Research and Development; Xu Jiafeng, Senior Manager of Business Development and Alliances; and members of the Process Development Department extended a warm welcome and held a symposium.

JW Therapeutics was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in November 2020. For the year ended December 31, 2022, the company's revenue increased significantly by 373.1% year-on-year, driven by the successful commercialization of its cellular immunotherapy product Breyanzi® (relmacabtagene autoleucel injection) for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma after two or more lines of systemic therapy, which was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration on September 1, 2021.

Breyanzi® (relmacabtagene autoleucel injection) is a lentiviral vector-based, CD19-targeted CAR-T cell therapy product independently developed by JW Therapeutics. It is currently the only CAR-T cell therapy product in China to have simultaneously received three distinctions: the "Major New Drug Creation" special project, priority review status for new drug marketing applications, and breakthrough therapy designation.

During the symposium, Chairman Shi Yuanyuan provided a detailed introduction to Shenzhen Cell Valley's development history, core technology team, R&D and production pipelines, and core advantages. Chief Scientist Professor Wang Jianxun introduced international trends in retroviral vector usage and core technical issues related to vector optimization. The two parties engaged in lively discussions on the international and domestic markets for retroviral vectors, new pipeline R&D for cell products, and IIT clinical trial applications. Given that the sales revenue of currently marketed cell products is closely tied to their pricing, reducing industrialization costs is particularly important. Retroviral vectors possess unique advantages in both industrialization cost and safety. As the only service platform in China capable of industrial-scale retroviral vector production, Shenzhen Cell Valley holds distinctive advantages in this area. Gu Haihua stated that JW Therapeutics would consider exploring retroviral vectors as a new track in subsequent new pipeline development, with advantages reflected not only in expanded cell product production capacity but also in significantly reduced industrialization costs.

Both parties expressed their intention to consider cooperation in new pipeline R&D and IIT clinical research, accelerating innovation and development to bring more breakthroughs to the cell and gene therapy field.
